Chemical composition and mechanical properties of 35CrMnSiA

**Brief Introduction to the Chemical Composition, Mechanical Properties, and Main Applications of 35CrMnSiA**

35CrMnSiA
Grade: 35CrMnSiA
Standard: GB/T 3077-1999

Performance: 35CrMnSiA is a low-alloy ultra-high-strength steel known for its excellent mechanical properties after heat treatment. It offers high strength, good toughness, and superior hardenability. The material also exhibits acceptable weldability (with preheating required before welding) and formability. However, it has limited corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance. It is typically used after low-temperature tempering or austempering. As a high-strength quenched and tempered structural steel, it provides high strength and impact resistance, along with medium cold deformation capability and good machinability. One thing to note is that it has a tendency toward temper brittleness, and its lateral impact toughness is relatively poor. Despite this, its welding performance is generally good, though when the thickness exceeds 3mm, preheating to 150°C is recommended, followed by post-weld heat treatment. It is commonly used in a conditioned state.

Applications: This alloy steel is widely used in manufacturing medium-speed, heavy-duty parts that require high strength and toughness. It is ideal for components subjected to high loads and speeds, such as gears, shafts, clutches, sprockets, grinding wheel spindles, bushings, bolts, and nuts. Additionally, it is suitable for parts with low wear resistance and operating at lower temperatures. It is also used in the production of welded components like vanes, valve plates, and non-corrosive pipes for high-pressure blowers.
