Wooden door color knowledge explanation

Discoloration, where the normal color of wood changes, it is called discoloration. There are two kinds of chemical discoloration and fungal discoloration.

A: Chemical discoloration: Falling wood is chemically discolored due to chemical and biochemical reaction processes that cause reddish brown, brown or orange yellow, etc. The color is generally uniform, and the distribution is limited to the surface layer (depth of 1-5 mm), after drying, it fades and fades. However, there are also phenomena in which the sapwood of the coniferous material that has been transported by water is rapidly dried to produce a macula.

Effect on materials: Chemical discoloration has no effect on the physical and mechanical properties of wood. In severe cases, it only damages the appearance of the decorative material.

1 color: The discoloration caused by fungal infestation of wood is discolored.

2 Discoloration: The surface of the sapwood is formed by the infection of the mycelium and sporophytes of the mold. Its color varies with the color of spores and hyphae and the pigments secreted; there are different colors such as blue, green, black, purple and red. Usually in the form of discrete spots or dense layers.

Effect on the material: Mold is limited to the surface of the wood and is easy to remove after drying, but sometimes it will leave stains on the surface of the wood, thus damaging the appearance of the wood, but does not change the strength properties of the wood.

B: Discoloration of color-changing bacteria: It is formed by cutting wood sapwood under the action of color-changing bacteria. The most common is the green or green skin. Followed by other sapwood spots, orange, pink or light purple, tan and so on. This defect is mainly caused by sluggish drying or lack of storage measures.

Effect on the material: The discoloration of the color-changing bacteria generally does not affect the physical and mechanical properties of the wood. However, when the weather is severe, the impact strength of the wood is slightly reduced. And enhance its water absorption and damage the appearance of wood. Usually this discoloration does not form decay.

Discoloration of decaying bacteria: It is formed by the early intrusion of the bacteria into the wood. The most common is erythema. Some are light reddish brown, tan or purplish red; some are also yellowish white or pinkish brown. All wood-destroying fungi will cause discoloration of the wood when it begins to move. Heartwood erythema or other pigmentation, mostly due to the early invasion of wood rot fungi in the growing season. The erythema or other stains on the sapwood are caused by the intrusion of wood rot fungi due to poor storage.

The influence on the material: the wood of this color in the early stage of decay still retains the original structure and hardness, and its physical and mechanical properties are basically unchanged. However, some of the impact strength is slightly lowered, the water absorption performance is slightly increased, and the appearance is impaired. It will develop into decay without being dried or improperly stored and used.
