Visian: The ideal choice for feed VC

Vitamin C (VC) is one of the most unstable vitamins used in feed additives. Its activity can be significantly affected by factors such as light, heat, oxygen, inorganic salts, and humidity, leading to substantial losses during processing, storage, and usage. This instability has made the stability of VC a critical research focus for scientists around the world, as it plays a vital role in evaluating the quality of feed and aquaculture products. Currently, many VC products on the market face challenges in terms of stability, cost, and bioavailability. After years of research, Hangzhou Tiannong has developed an advanced solution known as Vesian, a coated form of L-ascorbic acid. Vesian offers excellent stability across various environments and provides a sustained release effect in aqueous solutions. It maintains the same bioavailability as standard VC while reducing losses during feed production, thus greatly enhancing the benefits for the aquaculture industry. The coating material used in Vesian is primarily high-melting plant-based fatty acids, which offer several advantages: A. The surface of the vitamin C crystals is directly coated, preventing them from breaking easily and maintaining their structural integrity. B. The capsule remains intact when exposed to water, ensuring a slow and controlled release, which reduces dissolution rates and improves the stability of the vitamin in solution. C. Being derived from vegetable fatty acids, the coating is partially or fully utilized by aquatic animals, and the outer membrane is easily broken down in the body, resulting in high bioavailability. D. Due to the intact capsule structure, Vesian demonstrates better feed stability than most coated VC products available on the market. In comparison tests, Vesian outperformed standard VC under harsh conditions such as 70°C and high humidity. The test results showed that after 36 hours, the residual amount of VC in the feed was significantly higher for Vesian compared to conventional VC. The initial measurement (zero content) was used as a baseline, with ordinary VC set at 100% for reference. For optimal performance, Vesian is recommended to be added at specific levels depending on the type of feed. The dosage ranges from 50g to 200g per ton of feed, depending on the application and requirements. By using Vesian, feed manufacturers and aquaculture producers can ensure more consistent and effective delivery of Vitamin C, ultimately improving the health and productivity of livestock and aquatic species.
