The largest marble processing project in western China is being put into production in Heshuo
On June 24, a reporter from the Xinjiang Building Materials Office confirmed that a new marble processing project with an annual output of 2 million square meters has officially started operations in the Qingshuihe Comprehensive Industrial Park, located within the Heshuo County Economic Development Zone. The facility was developed and constructed by Xinjiang Fubang Guoyuan Mining Co., Ltd., marking a significant milestone for the region's stone industry.
The project spans 300 mu (approximately 20 hectares) and has an investment of 180 million yuan. It is considered a top-tier marble production site, featuring modern technology and large-scale operations. As the largest marble processing project in western China, it is expected to generate an annual output value of 400 million yuan. Additionally, the project will create over 400 direct jobs across various sectors, including mining, production, processing, sales, and transportation.
Heshuo County is known for its abundant stone resources, with proven reserves exceeding 28 million cubic meters and a metallogenic area of 250 square kilometers. The region is home to several high-quality stone varieties, such as "Ma Lanhong," "He Shuohong," "Pink Ma," "Luolan Gold Diamond," "Golden Queen," "Sesame White," and "General White." Among these, "He Shuohong" stands out for its exceptional quality and texture, closely resembling the highly sought-after "India Red" in the global stone market. This variety enjoys strong demand both domestically and internationally.
In recent years, Heshuo County has become a hotspot for investment due to its rich natural resources and favorable business environment. Over 24 stone processing enterprises have been established in the area, including well-known companies like Hualing, Hengsheng, Jianfa, Xinruntong, and Fubang Guoyuan. According to estimates, the county’s total annual marble plate processing capacity reached over 5 million square meters in 2015.
Today, the stone processing industry has become a key driver of economic growth in Heshuo County, serving as one of the three pillar industries supporting local development. With continued investment and expansion, the county aims to establish itself as the leading stone processing and trading hub in southern Xinjiang.
