Previous work - many leaf pathogens are present in corn residual straw. When the current crop is also corn, the risk of leaf diseases such as corn ash leaf spot and corn big spot disease increases.
Weather conditions - rainy and / or humid weather is most conducive to the incidence of leaf diseases. These environmental conditions increase the risk of disease occurrence when in the corn growing season.
Medical history - some fields may have a history of more serious leaf diseases. Fields at the bottom of the river, low-lying areas or trees are more susceptible to corn leaf disease.
Hybrid Resistance - If the disease resistance is grade 6 or higher, the use of fungicides may not result in an increase in yield. According to the China Pesticide Network , sensitive varieties with disease resistance less than 4 grades need to be sprayed with pesticides if 50% of the plant disease symptoms appear in the ear or the third leaf on the ear. For the intermediate type with disease resistance level 5, if 50% of the plant disease symptoms appear in the ear or the third leaf on the ear, consider using a fungicide.
