September US gold cutting and forming machine tool exports continue to grow

Recently, the American Manufacturing Technology Association (AMT) announced the latest statistics on the import and export trade of metal processing machines in the United States in September 2011. In September 2011, the export value of US metal processing machine tools was US$223 million, down 0.89% from the previous month, but up 13.74% year-on-year; the import value was US$417 million, down 6.88% from the previous month, but still increased by 96.33% year-on-year. In September, the trade deficit of US metalworking machine tools was US$195 million, a decrease of 12.9% from the previous month, but a significant increase of 10.73 times compared with the same period last year. In the first three quarters of 2011, the United States exported 1.975 billion US dollars of metal processing machine tools, an increase of 29% over the same period of 2010 of 1.532 billion US dollars; imported metal processing machine tools 3.12 billion US dollars, an increase of 75.9% over the same period of 2010, 1.828 billion US dollars. In the first nine months, the trade deficit of US metalworking machine tools reached US$1.24 billion, an increase of 318.4% from US$296 million in the same period last year. In September, US gold cutting and forming machine tool exports continued to grow. In September, the US exported 2.23 US dollars for metal processing machine tools, of which US$ 86 million was exported to CNC machines, down 5.5% from the previous month. In the first three quarters, the United States exported a total of 837 million US dollars of CNC machine tools, an increase of 26.6% over the same period of 2010 of 661 million US dollars. In the first three quarters, the export value of CNC machine tools in the United States accounted for 42.37% of the total export value. In terms of product types, in September, the US exported 153 million US dollars of metal cutting machine tools, an increase of 5.6% from the previous month; the export of metal forming machine tools reached 0.7 billion US dollars, down 12.6% from the previous month. In the first three quarters, the United States exported 1.307 billion US dollars of metal cutting machine tools, an increase of 30.5% over the same period of 2010. The cumulative export of metal forming machine tools was 668 million US dollars, up 26.1% from the 530 million US dollars in the same period of last year. CNC machine tools accounted for 70% of total metalworking machine imports. In September, the United States imported 417 million US dollars of metal processing machine tools, including imported CNC machine tools of 298 million US dollars, down 3.2%. In the first three quarters, the United States imported 2.256 billion US dollars of CNC machine tools, a substantial increase of 95.1% over the same period of 2010, 1.156 billion US dollars. In the first three quarters, the import of CNC machine tools in the United States accounted for 70.16% of the total imports. In terms of product types, in September, the United States imported 338 million US dollars of metal cutting machine tools, an increase of 4.1% from the previous month; imported metal forming machine tools reached 0.8 billion US dollars, down 17.2% from the previous month. In the first three quarters, the United States imported a total of 2.594 billion US dollars of metal cutting machine tools, an increase of 84.4% over the same period of 2010 of 1.407 billion US dollars; cumulative imported metal forming machine tools 621 million US dollars, an increase of 47.4% over the same period of 2010, 421 million US dollars.
