National Standard Parts Inspection Center
Recently, the National Standard Parts Product Quality Supervision and Inspection Center has taken further steps to enhance the standardization of experimental tooling. Two important publications have been compiled: the "Fastener Product Test Tooling Atlas" and the "Fastener Product Test Mandrel Atlas." These documents have been bound into a single volume and serve as essential references for technical catalogues related to fastener test kits and tooling. The catalogues are aligned with international standards such as ISO, HB, GJB, and ASTM, ensuring consistency in the design and manufacturing of testing fixtures.
The focus is on various aspects of fastener performance, including tensile strength for external and internal thread fasteners, rivet and nail products, self-locking fasteners, fatigue resistance, shear strength, riveting performance, torque testing, and more. Each section details the structural design, dimensions, material specifications, processing methods, heat treatment, and acceptance criteria for the fixtures used in these tests.
Given the wide variety of fastener types and their differing performance characteristics, it's crucial that the testing fixtures meet specific method standards tailored to each product parameter. To address this, the Performance Room organized testers to compile, analyze, and summarize all relevant standards. As a result, 88 sets of detailed tooling drawings were created to support mechanical performance testing of fasteners.
The implementation of the "Fastener Product Test Tooling Atlas" and the "Fastener Product Test Mandrel Atlas" significantly improves the reliability and accuracy of test data. It ensures that test results are both repeatable and reproducible, which is essential for quality assurance. Moreover, these resources help streamline testing procedures, enhance work efficiency, and promote the consistent application of testing standards across different laboratories and facilities.
