In the first half of the year, the national electricity market showed a moderate growth trend

In June, the China Electric Power Enterprise Association reported that the country's electricity supply and demand remained stable from January to June. Total electricity consumption reached 2,499.6 billion kWh, reflecting a 5.1% year-on-year increase—slightly lower than the growth seen in the same period last year. This indicates a moderate pace of growth in the national electricity market, continuing from the previous year but with a slight decline compared to the same time frame in 2023. Looking at sectoral breakdowns, the primary industry consumed 46.1 billion kWh, marking a 0.8% decrease from the previous year, accounting for 1.8% of total consumption. The secondary industry, which includes manufacturing and construction, used 1,841.9 billion kWh, up by 4.9% year-on-year, contributing 73.8% of overall electricity use and driving 70.3% of the total growth. Meanwhile, the tertiary sector, covering services and retail, saw a 9.3% rise in electricity usage, reaching 292.5 billion kWh, or 11.7% of total consumption. Residential and urban-rural electricity consumption totaled 315.6 billion kWh, an increase of 3.9% year-on-year. However, this growth was 8.8 percentage points lower than the same period in 2023, and it accounted for 12.6% of total usage, contributing 9.7% to the overall growth in electricity demand. Regionally, 16 provinces experienced electricity consumption growth rates higher than the national average of 5.1%. Among them, Xinjiang led with a staggering 31.1% increase, followed by Yunnan (13.1%), Qinghai (11.3%), and Hainan (10.9%). On the other end of the spectrum, Shanghai recorded the lowest growth at just 0.2%. In June, the overall electricity consumption growth rate saw a slight upward trend compared to the previous month. Residential electricity use rose sharply both year-on-year and month-on-month, while manufacturing electricity use increased modestly. In contrast, the four high-energy-consuming industries saw a small decline in their growth rate. Hydropower generation, however, experienced a sharp drop in output compared to the same period last year. Despite this, regional power transmission across the country accelerated, with the southwest grid seeing a negative year-on-year change in power exports, yet still recording higher volumes than the previous month.

Hydraulic Jack Cylinder

A hydraulic jack cylinder is a component of a hydraulic jack system that is responsible for generating the lifting force.

It consists of a cylindrical tube with a piston inside it. The piston is connected to a rod that extends out of the cylinder.

When hydraulic pressure is applied to the cylinder, it pushes the piston and rod forward, creating a lifting force.

This force can be used to lift heavy objects or vehicles. Hydraulic jack cylinders are commonly used in automotive repair shops,

construction sites, and other applications where heavy lifting is required.
