VR with 3D scanning technology can resolve Acacia on Mars
In recent days, VR startup 8i has come up with a good idea for you - solving it with surreal holographic information. 8i United SIFT created a VR experience "Messages to Mars" for Life Group's LifeVR. They used camera array 3D to scan the real performances of astronaut Buzz Aldrin and comedian Reggie Watts and processed it into VR video through 8i's stereoscopic video system. They used 41 cameras to shoot at the same time and recorded 3D holograms of performers.
SIFT researcher Peggy Wu said that this technology can present people's true feelings in VR. This helps the space station’s astronauts to reduce loneliness and establish a connection with people on Earth.
Although there are always some human errors when shooting a video, it still looks more like a three-dimensional, holographic character-oriented entertainment film than a 360-degree video.
