New Anti-Rust Technology in Fine Bearing Manufacturing

Rust is a serious issue in metal manufacturing, especially for precision components like bearings. It not only affects the accuracy and surface finish but also reduces the service life of the product. Preventing rust during various stages of bearing production is crucial to maintaining quality and performance. Traditionally, several methods have been used to prevent rust between processes, but they often come with limitations. One common approach is immersing bearings in a 5% sodium nitrite and 0.6% sodium carbonate solution. While effective, this method requires multiple tanks and takes up significant space. Another method involves using a more concentrated sodium nitrite solution (15-20%) mixed with sodium carbonate, which provides shorter protection—usually 7-14 days. In humid weather, this period can be reduced to just 2-3 days, increasing labor and cost. Coating parts with anti-rust oil is another technique, but it often requires removal before the next process, adding extra steps and time. Recently, a new spray-jet anti-rust technology has been developed and tested by manufacturers. This method has proven to be more efficient and long-lasting. Bearings are washed daily with a sodium nitrite solution, and after three months, no signs of rust were found in the test results. This method is now widely used for semi-finished bearing products, with similar effectiveness. The process involves setting up a central storage area with a cement floor, walkways, and a sodium nitrite solution pool. The solution is 5-10% sodium nitrite and 0.6% sodium carbonate. Bearings are placed on both sides of the floor, with a 0.6-meter walkway between each pile. A water pump circulates the solution through a shower head, washing the bearings thoroughly. The used solution is filtered and returned to the pool, ensuring cleanliness and efficiency. The solution is tested every two days and replenished as needed. During April to September, the solution is fully replaced every two weeks, while from October to March, it is changed once a month. This system significantly reduces labor and chemical costs. For example, one workshop previously used over 4,000 kg of sodium nitrite monthly, but now only uses around 200 kg, saving nearly half the amount. This spray-type anti-rust method has been successfully applied in recent years, proving suitable for medium and large-sized, high-volume, and long-cycle bearing semi-products.

Piston Seals

Piston seal is a kind of seal used to seal between piston and cylinder, usually used in hydraulic system and Pressure system. The piston seal can prevent liquid and gas leakage, and also prevent external impurities from entering the system, thus maintaining the normal operation of the system.

Piston seals can be classified based on their structure and material. According to different structures, piston seals can be divided into unidirectional seals and bidirectional seals. A unidirectional seal can only prevent the leakage of liquid or gas from one direction, while a bidirectional seal can prevent the leakage of liquid or gas from both directions. According to different materials, piston seals can be divided into rubber seals, polyurethane seals, polytetrafluoroethylene seals, etc.

In hydraulic systems, piston seals are typically used to seal hydraulic cylinders and pumps. The piston seals in hydraulic systems need to have characteristics such as high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, and wear resistance to ensure long-term stable operation of the system. In Pressure system, piston seals are usually used to seal cylinders and pumps. The piston seals in the Pressure system need to be resistant to high pressure, low temperature, wear and other characteristics to ensure the normal operation of the system.

In addition to hydraulic system and Pressure system, piston seals can also be used in other industrial fields, such as automobile, aviation, machinery, etc. In the automotive industry, piston seals are commonly used in engines to ensure normal engine operation. In the aviation industry, piston seals are commonly used in the hydraulic system of aircraft to ensure normal takeoff, landing, and flight. In the field of machinery, piston seals are commonly used in hydraulic and press machines to ensure the normal operation of the machine.

In short, piston seals are a very important type of seal that is widely used in various industrial fields. With the continuous development of industrial technology, the materials, structure, and performance of piston seals are also constantly improving and upgrading to meet the needs of different fields.
