Building on this, they developed a method to introduce high concentrations of impurities, significantly reducing the material’s resistance through a process known as jump conduction. By leveraging this low-resistance diamond, the team successfully fabricated bipolar transistors—key components in high-performance semiconductor devices. These transistors are capable of amplifying current and are essential in various applications, such as broadcasting, telecommunications, computing, automation, and household electronics. While diamonds have long been valued for their beauty and durability, their unique physical and chemical properties are now being explored for more practical and advanced uses.
