The first three quarters of Yunnan power operation is relatively stable

In the first three quarters of this year, Yunnan's electric power operation was basically stable, electricity production and supply continued to grow at a rapid rate, and the system was uniformly adjusted and the power supply was repeatedly hit. Since the flood season, precipitation across the province has generally been relatively low, only 40% to 50% of the average level of previous years, the flow of the hydropower stations continued to reduce, forced to pull water to generate electricity; thermal power is subject to a serious shortage of power coal, inventory sharp decline.

I. Basic situation of electricity production in Yunnan Province

As of August this year, the installed capacity of electricity in Yunnan Province was 38.78 million kilowatts, of which hydropower was 27.05 million kilowatts, accounting for 69.75%; thermal power was 11.334 million, accounting for 29.22%; wind power was 381,000 kilowatts, accounting for 0.98%; Solar 2 Million kilowatts, accounting for 0.05%.

From January to September, the province’s cumulative power generation was 116.659 billion kWh, an increase of 17.12% year-on-year, of which hydropower was 75.005 billion kWh, an increase of 31.37% over the same period last year, accounting for 64.33%; thermal power 40.84 billion kWh, a year-on-year decrease of 3.02%, accounting for 35 %. The whole society used 88.601 billion kwh of electricity, an increase of 19.26% year-on-year. The province’s cumulative electricity transmission capacity was 29.764 billion kWh, an increase of 11.6% year-on-year, of which Guangdong electricity sent 26.452 billion kWh, an increase of 17.04% over the same period last year, and sent 3.234 billion kWh of electricity and 19.13% year-on-year.

Yunnan Province is one of the provinces in the West to East. Sending Guangdong electricity accounted for 88% of the electricity delivered by Yunnan Province. During the 6th, 7th, and 8th months of this year, during the hosting of the Universiade in the summer of Guangdong's peak season, Yunnan Province delivered 3.907 billion kwh of electricity, 4.647 billion kwh and 4.915 billion kwh, respectively. 146 million kWh was sent to Guangdong on August 30 to reach the highest level of 171 million kWh.

Second, water storage and coal storage

(I) Water storage

After entering the flood season this year, the incoming water continued to be low, and the province's large-scale strong precipitation weather was less. According to the information provided by the Yunnan Climate Center, there are more than 50 counties (cities) in Yunnan Province with less than 50% precipitation, and each counties (City) broke through the smallest record in history over the same period. At present, the water from Xiaowan has dropped to around 1,000 cubic meters per second, which is about 800 cubic meters less than the normal level. As of October 13th, the water level of Xiaowan Hydropower Station was 1216.62 meters (1166 meters of dead water level), the water level of Manwan Hydropower Station was 991.42 meters (the dead water level was 982 meters), the water level of Dachaoshan Hydropower Station was 895.81 meters (the dead water level was 882 meters), and the water level of Jinghong Hydropower Station was 599.5. m (deadwater level 591 meters), Jinanqiao Hydropower Station water level 1417.14 meters (deadwater level 1398 meters).

(II) Deposited coal

This year, affected by the mine disaster, the main producing coal city of Yunnan Province started to stop production and rectification of coal mines, the slow progress of the resumption of production, coupled with the closure of Guizhou Province, the sharp increase in thermal coal prices and the surrounding provinces and cities to enter Yunnan province to grab coal and other factors, resulting in The supply of coal within the power grid was severely deficient and the coal stocks continued to decline. On September 13th, the provincial government adjusted coal storage capacity of 630,000 tons, which is the lowest stock this year, which is 3.7 million tons less than the same period of last year. As of October 13, the province's unified thermal power plant stored 1.05 million tons of coal, 3.88 million tons less than the same period last year.
