Rational storage and storage of chemical fertilizers

After the spring sowing, most farmers have a certain amount of surplus fertilizer in their homes. If some unreasonable storage practices are adopted, these fertilizers will not only cause nutrient loss and inconvenience in later application, but also may cause accidents such as explosion, burning and poisoning. Therefore, chemical fertilizer must be “five-proof” during storage and storage.

1, anti-moist agglomeration

Moisture or agglomeration caused by chemical absorption due to moisture absorption is a common problem in storage, and the humidity is more serious. The fertilizer should be placed in a dry, cool warehouse. The stack should be 30-50 cm away from the wall. The temperature of the warehouse should be below 30 °C, and the relative humidity should be 40-70%.

2, prevent nutrient evaporation

For less stable fertilizers, such as ammonium bicarbonate must be packaged tightly, keep dry and prevent direct sunlight. When used, it should be used as needed. After using one bag, remove one bag and use the remaining fertilizer to tighten the bag. For ammonium nitrogen fertilizers such as ammonium chloride, ammonium sulfate, ammonium nitrate and ammonium hydrogencarbonate, care should be taken not to coexist with alkaline fertilizers to reduce nitrogen loss.

3, anti-corrosion damage

Fertilizers are generally corrosive, especially acidic fertilizers such as superphosphate, ammonium chloride, etc., which are highly prone to volatile acids during storage. Do not put agricultural machinery such as sprayers, plows, iron drums, etc. with fertilizers for a long time. Corrosion protection.

4, anti-poisoning occurs

Fertilizers such as ammonium bicarbonate, urea, ammonium nitrate, and superphosphate cannot be stored together with seeds, otherwise the germination rate of the seeds will be affected, and the seeds will lose their ability to germinate in severe cases. In addition, food, pesticides, feed, strains and fertilizers cannot be mixed to avoid poisoning accidents.

5, fire prevention and explosion

Nitrate fertilizers should be specially protected from pyrotechnics during storage. Do not stack them with flammable materials. Once you are on fire, you can not use a variety of chemical fire extinguishing agents, you should first use sand grit and then extinguish with water.
