What are the characteristics and uses of carbendazim?

Carbendazim, also known as cotton atrophy, etc., its industrial product is light brown powder. It is more stable to heat and stable under alkaline conditions. It is low in toxicity to people and animals. Commonly used dosage forms in orchards are 25% and 50% carbendazim WP, and 40% carbendazim suspension.

Carbendazim is a broad-spectrum systemic fungicide that is absorbed by the seeds, roots and leaves of plants and can be transported in plant tissues. It has protective and therapeutic effects. With 50% carbendazim 800-1000 times solution, it can control fungal diseases on various jujube trees such as anthracnose, spot disease, and pulp disease. In order to improve the control effect on fruit diseases, 0.03% to 0.05% of an adhesive may be added to the drug solution.

Carbendazim can be mixed with general fungicides, but it should be mixed with pesticides and acaricides, and it should be noted that it cannot be mixed with strong alkaline drugs and copper-containing preparations. Continuous use of carbendazim is likely to cause resistance to pathogenic bacteria, so it should be used interchangeably or mixed with other drugs. Since thiophanate-methyl and carbendazim have cross-resistance, it is not advisable to use it as an agent for rotation with carbendazim.

Tung Oil was used as a preservative for wood ships. The oil penetrates the wood, then hardens to form an impermeable hydrophobic layer (repels water) up to 5 mm into the wood. As a preservative it is effective for exterior work above and below ground, but the thin layer makes it less useful in practice
